Statement of Faith

The Scriptures
All scripture is God-breathed and is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction and for instruction in righteousness. The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God's revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy. It reveals the principles by which God judges us, and therefore is, and will remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. All Scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.

God
There is one and only one living and true God. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. God is infinite in holiness and all other perfections. God is all powerful and all knowing; and His perfect knowledge extends to all things, past, present, and future, including the future decisions of His free creatures. To Him we owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience. The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being. He is ONE God.

Jesus Christ
Jesus exists in the form of God, humbled Himself and came as a servant being fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a perfect and sinless life, fulfilled the law and died on the Cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for all men. Jesus was buried and was raised bodily after three days and three nights in the tomb. He presented Himself bodily to His disciples and ascended into heaven. He is at the right hand of the Father and is our High Priest and advocate to the Father. He will return to establish His eternal kingdom and we who serve Christ and obey His word will also reign with Him.

Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is fully God and convicts mankind of sin and teaches all things pertaining to life and godliness. The Holy Spirit testifies of Christ, gives spiritual gifts to the members of the Church and produces the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, testifies of Christ and works within each believer to transform us into the image of Christ.

Salvation
Salvation is through Jesus Christ alone. Salvation cannot be earned or merited but is a free gift received by faith in Jesus Christ. Our salvation was purchased through the blood of Jesus Christ that was shed on the cross for every man. To receive salvation, man must be convicted of sin by the Holy Spirit and see his or her need for salvation in Christ and then surrender to Him as Lord and Savior. The work of salvation was completed on the cross where Jesus Christ was credited with our sin and we, receiving the free gift by faith, are credited with His righteousness.

Baptism
Once we surrender our lives to Christ, we are commanded to follow up in baptism as the fulfillment of righteousness (Matthew 3:14-15) and the outward testimony that I have died to my old nature and have been raised in Christ as a new creation (2 Cor 5:17, Col 2:11-12, Rom. 6:4-6). Just as Jesus died, was buried, and rose again, we follow that example in baptism. We die to our old life; we are buried with Christ in baptism and we rise up in newness of life. We are baptized according to scriptures by immersion, after a profession of faith and we are baptized in the name of the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ our Savior), and the Holy Spirit.
